Now that or whom which shall not be named here was particularly aggressive today in trying to get me down with the worst day at work in a while plus having to suffer some heart wrenching words of abuse that at the end of the day just brought me to such deep heavy sadness that long crocodile tears kept flowing from my eyes and I could not stop them...and I know it is not worth my tears and this made me a little angry at myself for seeming weak but I need to confess to myself that I am only human and my body needed to vent it out and just maybe God wanted me to let go of it this way because it made me determined to start with this venture and sit myself down with my bible and notes at hand to start right into it...so here goes!
Lets see what God has in store for me:
Day 1
Bible chapter for the day: Hebrews 4 (I'm enjoying The Bible app on my phone so much reading out to me and having access to so many versions to better understand God's word)
- In reading this chapter, I realised again that God requires us to rest so that we may 'rest in Him' because He has set out a special kind of rest for those who obey His guidance in honouring the Sabbath. I definitely do not want to miss out on this special rest that God wants us to experience as the people of Joshua did.
So from now on I will
- endeavour to honour the Sabbath with more seriousness, no work on Sundays and partake in the special rest that God set aside for me
- learn to meditate and quite my mind for at least 5-10 minutes a day to train myself to focus on what is important and regroup again. (this will definitely be a difficult one to master with everything going on, trying not to think..but I can and I will!)
Today's devotional title was "Legal vs. Experiential Ownership," is a great truth to help me get rid of the negativity and grow within myself a more positive expectancy in my life. When God told Joshua(Joshua 1:1-3) to lead His people into the promised land and that every place he lowers his foot on was already given to them, is amazing to know that God has already gave it to them, they could confidently walk without fear that they have legal right to the land as God Himself gave it to them.
I would love to drill it in my head and understand what is already mine in Christ, so my faith can rise to defeat the heaviness of discouragement and pessimism standing in the way of my promised land.
In 2 Peter 1:4 Peter refers to the 'exceedingly great and precious promises' which were given to us 'that we may be partakers of the divine nature'
I want to partake in the divine nature in Christ...I do, and I will.
Declaration for the day:
I am who the bible says I amI have what it says I haveI can do what it says I can doI increasingly possess, in my experience, the promises of God.With all the hurt inside me that is washed away by God's grace, I declare:
(from http://ignitinghope.com/declarations/)
Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). God’s promises, not our circumstances, are our “evidence” for what is really true. We don’t deny negative facts in our lives, but we choose to focus on the higher reality of God’s truth. Faith indeed comes by hearing (Romans 10:17); therefore, we choose to speak these powerful truths to build our own faith (by doing so, we are believing that our experience will catch up to our beliefs as Romans 12:2 teaches us).
- I set the course of my life with my words (James 3:2-5; Proverbs 18:21).
- God is on my side; therefore, I declare that I cannot be defeated (Romans 8:37; Psalm 91; Philippians 4:13).
- I am the head, not the tail. I have insight. I have wisdom. I have ideas and divine strategies. I have authority (Deuteronomy 8:18; Deuteronomy 28:13; James 1:5-8; Luke 10:19).
- My family and those connected to us are protected from disasters, disease, divorce, adultery, poverty, false accusation, foolish decisions and all accidents (Psalm 91).
- As Abraham did, I speak God's promises over my life so that my faith is strengthened to possess all of God's promises (Romans 4:17-23).
- I have a sound mind. I think the right thoughts, say the right words, and make the right decisions in every situation I face (2 Timothy 1:7).
- I expect to have powerful, divine appointments today to heal the sick, raise the dead, prophesy life, lead people to Christ, bring deliverance, release signs and wonders, and bless every place I go (the book of Acts).
- I expect that today will be the best day of my life spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and financially in Jesus' name (Romans 15:13).
Every place...I have given you (Joshua 1:3)
